Domain Registration Agreement & Policy

This Domain Registration Agreement & Policy ("Domain Terms") governs domain-name registrations, transfers, renewals, and restorations you purchase through DiveConnect.ai("DiveConnect", "we", "us"). They supplement our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. By searching for, ordering, or holding a domain through your dashboard, you (the "Registrant") agree to these Domain Terms.
1. Registrar of Record & Our Role
DiveConnect is a reseller, not an ICANN-accredited registrar. Domains you register through us are registered through our accredited registrar, Tucows Domains Inc. (operating the OpenSRS platform), which is the registrar of record for your domain. Your registration is therefore also subject to the Tucows/OpenSRS Exhibit A Registration Agreement (the "Registrar Agreement"), which is incorporated into these Domain Terms by reference. Where these Domain Terms conflict with the Registrar Agreement or with ICANN requirements, the Registrar Agreement and ICANN requirements control.
2. Your Rights & Responsibilities as a Registrant
ICANN requires that we make the following available to you. Please read them — they explain your rights and obligations as a domain registrant:
You are responsible for keeping your registration and renewals current and for complying with the policies of ICANN and the relevant domain registry.
3. Accurate WHOIS / Registration Data
ICANN requires that the registrant contact details you provide (name, organization, email, phone, and postal address) are accurate and kept up to date. Providing false or unreliable contact information, or failing to respond to a registrar inquiry about it, is a ground for suspension or cancellation of your domain. When contact details change, update them from your dashboard promptly. You may be sent a verification email you must act on within fifteen (15) days to avoid suspension.
4. Privacy of Your Contact Data (WHOIS Privacy)
We enable WHOIS privacy by default, so your personal contact details are shielded from the public WHOIS/RDAP directory where the registry permits it; you can turn this off per domain in your dashboard. Regardless of the privacy setting, your registration data is processed as described in our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum, and is shared with Tucows and the applicable registry as required to operate the domain and to comply with ICANN policy and law.
5. Term, Renewals & Auto-Renewal
Domains are registered for a fixed term (one year unless stated otherwise). Renewal is a separate one-time charge each term. We send renewal reminders by email at approximately 30, 14, 7, and 1 day(s) before expiry to the registrant email on file. If you enable auto-renew for a domain, we will attempt to renew it before it expires; if auto-renew is off or a renewal charge cannot be completed, the domain will expire. It is your responsibility to ensure a domain you wish to keep is renewed in time.
6. Expiration, Grace & Redemption
If a domain is not renewed by its expiry date it stops resolving and your website and email on that domain will go offline. After expiry, most gTLDs provide a redemption grace period during which the domain can be restored for an additional fee set by the registry (typically substantially higher than a renewal). After the redemption period ends the domain is released and may be registered by anyone. Restoration availability and fees are set by the registry and are not guaranteed.
7. Transfers
Transferring a domain to us: you may transfer an eligible domain in by providing its authorization (EPP/"auth") code from your current registrar. A domain generally cannot be transferred within 60 days of its initial registration or a prior transfer, and must be unlocked with a valid auth code. Transfers complete at the registry over several days.
Transferring a domain away / leaving: you may transfer your domain to another registrar at any time subject to ICANN's Transfer Policy. Contact us at admin@diveconnect.io to obtain your authorization code and to have the domain unlocked. We will not unreasonably withhold a valid transfer-out.
8. Fees, Payment & Refunds
Domain prices are shown at the point of purchase and are charged as a one-time payment through our billing provider (which may act as merchant of record and add applicable tax). Once a domain has been registered, transferred, or renewed at the registry, the fee is non-refundable, because the corresponding registry charge is non-recoverable. If a payment is completed but the registration cannot be fulfilled at the registrar (for example, the name became unavailable), we will refund that charge. Prices may change; the price shown at checkout is the price that applies to that order.
9. Nameservers, DNS & Hosting
By default we point your domain's nameservers at our DNS so your DiveConnect website and email work automatically. You may request different nameservers. You are responsible for DNS records you add, and for any third-party service you point the domain at.
10. Dispute Policies (UDRP / URS)
Your registration is subject to ICANN's Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) and, where applicable, the Uniform Rapid Suspension (URS) system and any registry-specific dispute policies. A domain may be suspended, cancelled, or transferred as the result of such a proceeding.
11. Acceptable Use & Abuse
You may not use a domain for unlawful activity, or in violation of our Acceptable Use Policy or the Registrar Agreement. We and Tucows may suspend, lock, or cancel a domain to comply with law, ICANN policy, a dispute proceeding, or a valid abuse report. To report abuse of a domain registered through us, email legal@diveconnect.io.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Domain Terms; we will post the updated version here and revise the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of a domain after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance. Nothing here limits your rights under the Registrar Agreement or ICANN policy.
